Mzondo generally makes use of two technologies in preparing our products. Our juice and oil extraction is performed by two FMC juicers that are configured to juice different fruit sizes. Our second FMC was installed specifically to juice oversize Navel fruit and Ruby Grapefruit. Juice is packed in 200kg steel drums and frozen for shipping.

The pasteuriser uses GEC 40mm platepacks and can be adjusted to control both pasteurising temperature and holding time. We chose a plate pack as opposed to tube-in-tube to lower our carbon footprint due to greatly improved useage of energy. Juice is chilled for packing immediately following pasteurisation. Juice is blast frozen within 12 hours of production.

Our oil line is built around two Alfa Laval separators to produce pure cold pressed oils. Oil is packed in fluorinated plastic drums under Carbon Dioxide to reduce oxidation of oil while stored.
